PROGRESS

Recent months have been busy!
Here’s where we are with the IMC…

  • The Foundation has signed a 99-year lease with the town of Hopkinton for a 19-acre site on Route 135 – on the Boston Marathon course, less than a mile from the starting line – on which to develop the IMC. News of the lease was announced by the town in May of last year.

  • We have contracted with ConsultEcon, https://www.consultecon.com, of Cambridge, MA, who validated the 26.2 Foundation’s vision and plan by formulating a vigorous economic-impact analysis.

  • We are working with GRL Architects, https://www.grlarchitects.com, of Hopkinton, MA, drawing up plans for the state-of-the-art, 25,000-square-foot facility that will include a world-class museum and hall of fame, 11,000 square feet of dedicated exhibit space, an auditorium, library, and conference and educational space.

  • We have collaborated with HealyKohler Design of Washington, D.C., http://www.healykohler.com , to design a world-class, interactive visitor experience, intended to maximize repeat visitation and sustainability.

  • We are completing site due-diligence and permitting, with the work being led by the Southborough, MA-based engineering firm, Beals + Thomas, https://www.bealsandthomas.com.
